In 2017, a group of theatre makers came together to perform a little-known play called ‘Talk’, written by Mark Wilson at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Since then, they have worked on numerous projects but never really left Talk behind. Now they are reuniting to form a theatre company so they can take Talk to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2019 and go on to create more moving, innovative and creative pieces.

ABOUT

Roanna Bond and Kasia Senyszyn are two friends with a love of telling stories that intrigue, entertain and move. They started the Parrot Theatre Company after working together on a few productions through their local amateur theatre company, the Canterbury Players.

Joyfully discovering that their skillset and attitudes to directing complemented one another, they continue to love learning from each other and their cast and crew, and to fuse their experience and passions to create new and interesting work.

OUR MISSION

For Roanna, a drama therapist, theatre means telling bold stories and understanding character, individual experience and text. For Kasia, a PhD student in accessible theatre, it is about being inclusive, being open and being creative with the overall aesthetic. Thankfully we can have both. Together, we love to make high quality, thought-provoking theatre, and, with our combined experience within the mental health and accessibility arenas respectively, are particularly committed to breaking down barriers for people who are at risk of social isolation or exclusion.
